On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Jackson)

The juxtaposition of treasure and trash aptly describes the connection of Dad with the movie, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (OHMSS). Four Japanese typewriters used as props in one scene in the previously produced James Bond movie, You Only Live Twice, languished. Meanwhile, my Dad had unsuccessfully tried to import Japanese typewriters. He somehow found out about the hidden treasures in Pinewood studios. My Dad helped finance OHMSS by paying £100 to purchase these typewriters.

In OHMSS, Tracy Di Vicenzo marries James Bond (007) and drives the Mercury Cougar pictured above to help her husband escape from Irma Bunt and her henchman. In real life, a Secret Service Agent’s encounter with ...
