Keep Calm and Carry On (Jackson)

During wartime, survival and victory were partly achieved through the manifestation of an English characteristic to maintain rationality and composure regardless of the circumstances. To successfully navigate my US job interview required me to appear imperturbable, when in reality I was just learning how to fly by the seat of my pants (Carrigan). On my first trip across the big pond, I was mistakenly lulled into a false sense of security by believing the words and sentiment aptly expressed by Oscar Wilde:

"We have really everything in common with America nowadays, except, of course, language." (Mason)
